AAA: Louisville 10, Toledo 6

TOLEDO, Ohio - Anderson Machado singled home the go-ahead run in the ninth, lifting the Louisville Bats to a 10-6 win over the Toledo Mud Hens in International League play on Sunday.

Franklyn German (3-5) had come in to pitch the ninth for the Mud Hens. After giving up Machado's hit, German intentionally walked Austin Kearns to load the bases. Ray Olmedo then scored on a wild pitch, and Jim Chamblee followed with a two-run double.

The Mud Hens scored all six runs in the sixth. Jorge Toca and Eric Owens drove in one run each with singles off Seth Etherton. Guillermo Rodriguez then followed with a three run triple off Brian Reith (2-3), and Rich Gomez capped the scoring with an RBI bunt single.

Louisville went ahead in the second on Dane Sardinha's RBI single. Kearns had a two-run double in the third. In the fourth, Kenny Kelly hit an RBI triple and Steve Lomasney followed with an RBI double to make it 6-0.

Toledo starter Rick Kirsten gave up nine hits and six runs in four innings. German gave up three hits and four runs in 1-3 of an inning.

Reith gave up three hits and one run in 2 2/3 innings.
