Reds at Rockies series preview



The Enquirer

When: 9:05 p.m. today, 8:05 p.m. Saturday, 3:05 p.m. Sunday.

Where: Coors Field, Denver.

TV: FSN, all three games.

Radio: WLW-AM (700).

Records: Reds 53-55, fourth place in the National League Central. Rockies 47-61, fourth place in the NL West.

The arms: Today - RHP Brandon Claussen (1-1, 4.02 ERA) vs. LHP Shawn Estes (11-4, 5.71); Saturday - RHP Paul Wilson (9-2, 3.84) vs. RHP Aaron Cook (6-4, 4.18); Sunday - RHP Cory Lidle (6-10, 5.35) vs. LHP Jeff Fassero (2-7, 4.96).

The bats: The Rockies, as usual, have a lot of offensive pop. Todd Helton (.328, 25 home runs, 69 RBI), Jeromy Burnitz (.297, 28 homers, 81 RBI) and Vinnie Castilla (.282, 23 homers, 89 RBI) have put up big numbers.

The rest: The Reds are 2-1 against the Rockies this season after going 4-2 against them last year. Ken Griffey Jr. has hit .367 with eight home runs and 21 RBI in 18 games at Coors.
