ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Jim Chamblee doubled to drive in the winning run in the 10th inning as the Louisville Bats defeated the Rochester Red Wings 4-3 in International League baseball Monday.
Gary Burnham led off the 10th with a double against losing pitcher Kevin Hodge (3-4). One out later, Chamblee drove his double into the left-center field gap. It was his first hit in five at-bats.
Louisville's win prevented a sweep of the four-game series by Rochester.
Aaron Myette earned his 15th save to preserve the victory for Joe Valentine (3-4).
Louisville (48-55) went ahead 2-0 in the third inning on a double by Aaron Holbert and a single by Burnham. The Bats extended the lead on a sacrifice fly by Steve Lomasney in the fourth, but Rochester cut the margin to 3-1 in the bottom of that inning on a single by Todd Dunwoody.
The Red Wings (55-49) tied the game with two runs in the eighth on a single by Josh Rabe and a sacrifice fly by Chris Heintz.
