AAA: Louisville 8, Pawtucket 3

By The Associated Press

LOUISVILLE - Brandon Larson hit a three-run homer as the Louisville Bats beat the Pawtucket Red Sox 8-3 Monday in an International League game.

Nomar Garciaparra, playing in his second minor league rehabilitation game, went 2-for-3 for Pawtucket. Garciaparra is on medical rehab from Boston after fouling a ball off his right heel in spring training on March 17.

Louisville scored five runs in the second inning, sending all nine batters to the plate and collecting five hits. They included consecutive two-RBI doubles from Jason Romano and Jermaine Clark.

Larson's shot in the fourth gave Louisville an 8-1 lead.

Jung Kung Bong (4-4) started for the Bats, going five innings, giving up three runs on eight hits. John Stephens (3-4) gave up eight runs on 10 hits in four innings to take the loss for Pawtucket.
