LOUISVILLE - Jim Chamblee hit his fifth career grand slam to lead Louisville to a 9-6 win over Charlotte on Saturday night in the International League.
Chamblee homered in the first inning off Charlotte starter Enemencio Pacheco (0-1). The Bats scored in each of the first five innings and built an 8-1 lead.
Felipe Lopez and Reggie Taylor had RBI doubles and Jermaine Clark had a solo home run for the Bats.
Bryant Nelson and Mario Valenzuela homered for the Knights.
Louisville starter Joe Valentine (2-1) earned the win, allowing a run on three hits with five strikeouts across five innings of work.
Pacheco didn't make it out of the first inning, giving up four runs on four hits with a walk.
