AAA: Louisville 12, Charlotte 1

FORT MILL, S.C. - Jim Chamblee drove in four runs on two homers as Louisville beat Charlotte 12-1 Monday night in the International League.

The Bats (10-14) led 7-0 after Chamblee's two-run shot capped a four-run fifth inning. Dane Sardinha also had a homer in the fourth.

Louisville drove in three more runs in the ninth on Chamblee's second homer and Gary Burnham's second RBI single of the night.

The Knights (12-13) got on the board in the seventh inning on an RBI single from Rich Paz.

Ryan Kohlmeier (1-2) gave up eight hits and seven runs, six earned, in 4 2/3 innings to get the loss.

Joe Valentine (1-1) worked five scoreless innings and gave up three hits to earn the win for the Bats. Valentine struck out six. Aaron Myette gave up one unearned run and two hits in four innings of work to pick up his first save.
