AAA: Indianapolis 3, Louisville 2

By The Associated Press

LOUISVILLE - Corey Hart's RBI double in the third inning lifted the Indianapolis Indians to a 3-2 International League win over the Louisville Bats Tuesday night.

Indianapolis scored two runs in the first, sparked by back-to-back doubles by J.J. Hardy and Chris Magruder against Louisville starter Brandon Claussen (0-2).

Ben Hendrickson (3-0) started for the Indians, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out four in 5 1/3 innings. Jason Childers pitched the last two outs of the ninth for his sixth save.

Jacob Cruzs two-run triple in the third put the Bats within striking distance, but the Indians' pitching staff held the Bats scoreless the rest of the way.

Claussen went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits. Claussen also struck out four Indianapolis batters, extending his league-leading strikeout total to 26.
