CHICAGO - Magglio Ordonez hit a one-out home run in the 10th inning to give the Chicago White Sox a 6-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday and a three-game series sweep.
"I was looking to get a pitch to hit out of the park," Ordonez said. "I made contact and I put a good swing on it."
Frank Thomas and Aaron Rowand also homered for the White Sox, who beat the Royals in their final at-bat for the second straight game.
"We don't care what is going on when we get behind. We try our best to come back and just win close ball games," Thomas said. "We had a problem with that last year."
Ordonez's fourth homer of the year came on an 0-2 pitch from D.J. Carrasco (1-1).
Damaso Marte (1-1) pitched two scoreless innings for the win.
Kansas City starters have yet to win a game this year, their longest streak to start a season since 1992.
"The starting pitching, we just need a little more consistency," said Juan Gonzalez, who hit his first homer of the season. "These last two days have been hard to take."
Blue Jays 11, Tigers 0
DETROIT - Cy Young winner Roy Halladay pitched a shutout for his first win of the season and Frank Catalanotto extended his hit streak to nine games.
Halladay (1-2) allowed eight hits and struck out five. He started with the same record last season before finishing with a 22-7 record.
Jason Johnson (1-2) took the loss, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk in four innings. Despite the defeat, the Tigers are still three games over .500 after setting an AL record with 119 losses last season.
Toronto put away the game with five runs in the seventh and added three runs in the ninth on a two-run homer by Kevin Cash and a RBI double by Chris Woodward.
Rangers 7, Athletics 2
ARLINGTON, Texas - Kenny Rogers pitched seven solid innings, Alfonso Soriano had three hits and Texas avoided a three-game sweep.
Rogers (2-0) gave up one unearned run and five hits in his 38th home victory, breaking a tie with Rick Helling for the most wins at The Ballpark at Arlington.
Rich Harden (0-1) gave up six runs and 11 hits in his first start this season for Oakland.
Twins 3, Indians 0
CLEVELAND - Brad Radke pitched eight shutout innings for Minnesota. Radke (2-0) allowed four singles, struck out five and walked one to help Minnesota take two of three games in the series. Joe Nathan pitched the ninth for his first save since 1999 with San Francisco.
