NORFOLK, Va. - Matt Ginter and Pat Strange combined to allow only two hits in seven innings and Norfolk beat Louisville 2-0 in a game shortened to seven innings by rain Tuesday.
Ginter worked the first four innings, allowing one hit and striking out six. Strange (1-0) allowed the other hit in his three innings and fanned five.
The Tides got both runs in the second on two singles, a walk, a sacrifice fly by Rodney Nye and a wild pitch by Bats starter Bubba Nelson (0-1).
