AAA: Louisville 12, Norfolk 3

By The Associated Press

NORFOLK, Va. - Gary Burnam had four hits, including two doubles, and Steve Lomasney drove in four runs on two hits as Louisville defeated Norfolk 12-3 Sunday in International League baseball.

Jung Keun Bong (1-0) allowed six hits and struck out four in five innings for the Bats. James Baldwin (0-1) allowed nine hits and struck out three in five innings for the Tides.

Leadoff batter Reggie Taylor had a homer to right in the first inning for Louisville, and Wilson Delgado's RBI double in the bottom of the first evened the score.

But the Bats scored two runs in the second and one in the third to put the game out of reach. Stephen Smitherman drove in three more with a homer to center in the seventh. The Bats added four more runs in the ninth, including a three RBI double by Lomasney.

Catcher Javier Cardona and Craig Brazell had single-run homers for the Tides in the eighth and ninth, respectively. Delgado had three hits for Norfolk.
