ATLANTA - Tom Goodwin brought home Derrek Lee with a sacrifice fly in the 15th inning, and Chicago held on to beat Atlanta.

Aramis Ramirez, who had four hits, doubled for the third time to lead off the inning, and moved to third on a single by Lee. Against a drawn-in infield, Ramon Martinez hit a grounder to shortstop Jesse Garcia, who quickly threw home to get Ramirez easily.

But Michael Barrett walked to load the bases, and Goodwin hit a fly ball off Will Cunnane (0-1) down the right-field line to score Lee.

Kent Mercker (1-0) pitched the 14th and Joe Borowski got three outs for his second save.

Andruw Jones homered for Atlanta in the second, which was the only run through the first eight innings.

Astros 13, Brewers 7

MILWAUKEE - Houston right-hander Wade Miller dominated Milwaukee again Friday in the Brewers' home opener, pitching six solid innings in the Astros' 13-7 win.

Miller allowed two earned runs on four hits in improving to 11-1 against Milwaukee. In seven career starts at Miller Park, he is 6-0 with a 1.08 ERA.

Jeff Bagwell went 4-for-5 with five RBIs, including his sixth career grand slam, and scored three times.

Richard Hidalgo added four RBIs for the Astros.

Wes Obermueller (0-1) gave up five runs and was pulled during the Astros' nine-run sixth inning.

Cardinals 13, Diamondbacks 6

PHOENIX - St. Louis pounded Casey Daigle in his major league debut with five home runs - two by ex-Diamondback Reggie Sanders - in 2 2/3 innings and the Cardinals beat Arizona 13-6 on Friday night.

Tony Womack, another former Diamondback, went 4-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI.

Scott Rolen was 3-for-5 with four RBIs, including a two-run home run and a two-run single. Albert Pujols and Ray Lankford also homered for the Cardinals.

Marlins 4, Phillies 3

MIAMI - Mike Lowell had three hits and drove in two runs to lift Florida over Philadelphia.

Lowell's third single sparked a three-run sixth inning that tied the game. Luis Castillo added a two-out RBI single in the seventh.

Eric Milton, making his first start for the Phillies and just his fourth since 2002 because of knee injury, allowed two runs and six hits in five-plus innings. He left in the sixth after Miguel Cabrera doubled with Luis Castillo aboard.

Rheal Cormier (1-1) came in to face Lowell, but the usually reliable left-hander promptly gave up a two-run double.

Matt Perisho (2-0) got Bobby Abreu to ground out to end the eighth. Armando Benitez pitched a perfect ninth for his third save.

Mets 3, Expos 2, 11 innings

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Todd Zeile doubled to break an 11th-inning tie Friday night, leading New York over Montreal 3-2.

Montreal, owned by the other 29 major league teams, is back at Hiram Bithorn Stadium for 22 more home games this season. The commissioner's office hopes to have a plan by the All-Star break for a permanent home starting in 2005.

Karim Garcia opened the 11th with a single off Luis Ayala (0-2), who had pitched a perfect 10th. Ty Wigginton reached on a fielder's choice, and Zeile doubled to left-center.

David Weathers (1-0) pitched the 10th for the win, and Orber Moreno got three outs for his first save.

Montreal tied the game in the eighth after Brian Schneider singled off Mike Stanton and pinch-hitter Jamey Carroll walked. Peter Bergeron sacrificed and new Mets closer Braden Looper allowed a two-run double to Jose Vidro.

Dodgers 5, Rockies 1

LOS ANGELES - Leadoff hitter Dave Roberts stole a career-high four bases, Adrian Beltre hit a two-run homer and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 5-1 Friday night for their third straight victory.

Alex Cora had a two-run triple and Paul Lo Duca singled home a run for the Dodgers, who beat the Rockies for the eighth consecutive time in the opener of a three-game series.

Ishii (1-0) allowed a run and four hits over six innings and stranded two baserunners in three consecutive innings before giving up a sixth-inning home run by Charles Johnson, who has homered in each of his first three games.
