shackelford MEET THE REDS: Brian Shackelford

Position: Pitcher

Age: 27

Height/weight: 6-1, 190 pounds

Throws/bats: Left, left.

Born/resides: McAlester, Okla.

How acquired: In trade, along with Jeff Austin, from Kansas City Royals for Damaso Espino and Alan Moye.

Favorite TV show: Cowboy U., a reality show on CMT.

Favorite movie: Varsity Blues.

Other than baseball likes to: Golf and hunt.

Fun fact: He was a punter for the University of Oklahoma. He averaged 39.7 yards per punt.

INJURY REPORT

Nothing new. Everyone but RHP D.J. Mattox (elbow) is cleared for all activity.

GAME REPORT: Reds 3, Red Sox 2

The bats: Ken Griffey Jr. got his first hit of the spring - an RBI double down the line off Pedro Martinez in the first. Adam Dunn homered for the second straight day, hitting the first pitch of the fifth inning from Curt Schilling out to right field.

The arms: Cory Lidle and Aaron Harang went three innings each. Each allowed a run. Harang struck out five and walked none. He has struck out seven and walked none in five innings this spring. Ryan Wagner, Chris Reitsma and Brian Reith each pitched a scoreless inning.

The rest: Adam Hyzdu started in right field for the Red Sox. That meant three Moeller High grads started the game - Griffey, Barry Larkin and Hyzdu, who is in Boston's camp as non-roster player.

Up next: The Reds are at home against Tampa Bay today. Left-hander Jesus Sanchez will start against Tampa Bay right-hander Victor Zambrano.
