Born/resides: Torrance, Calif./Wesley Chapel, Fla.

How acquired: Signed as a sixth-year minor-league free agent.

Favorite TV show: "I mostly watch sports on television."

Favorite movie: The Passion of the Christ.

Other than baseball he likes to: Fish. "I love to get out on the boat."

Trivially speaking: He played in one game for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1996 while Ozzie Smith was on the disabled list. "Ozzie said, 'Holbert, you didn't even get to finish your cup of coffee.' Eight years later, I'm still waiting to finish it."
