Reds' Caravan set to hit the road

The Reds' 2004 Winter Caravan, a free event that gives fans a chance to meet members of the team's organization, will visit six cities. The schedule:

Jan. 29: Fricker's in West Carrollton (5-7 p.m.);

Jan. 30: Lima Mall (noon-2 p.m.), Flannagan's in Dublin (5-7 p.m.);

Jan. 31: Louisville Slugger Museum in Louisville (10 a.m.-noon); Malone's in Lexington (2-3 p.m.); Lazarus Dome at Huntington (W. Va.) Mall (6-7:30 p.m.).

Scheduled to appear at all six stops are chief operating officer John Allen, general manager Dan O'Brien, manager Dave Miley, broadcaster Marty Brennaman, pitching coach Don Gullett, special assistant Gene Bennett and mascot Mr. Red.

A list of players who will participate in the 2004 Reds Caravan, and the locations at which they will appear:

• Jan. 29, Fricker's, West Carrollton: RHP Cory Lidle, LHP Brandon Claussen, minor-league player of the year (to be announced Jan. 28).

• All other locations (Jan. 30, Lima, Dublin; Jan. 31, Louisville, Lexington, Huntington, W. Va.): RHP Todd Van Poppel, IF/OF Ryan Freel, RHP Ryan Wagner.
