Reds shortstop Barry Larkin is establishing a summer baseball clinic to serve Greater Cincinnati youth.
"I've been here for so long that I wanted to do something to leave a legacy when I'm done playing," Larkin said Sunday.
The inaugural three-day camp begins Tuesday and runs through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon each day, at Expressway Park in Milford, said Jeff Gatch, general manager of Champions Baseball.
About 150 youth will attend this first camp, including 35 underprivileged kids, Gatch said.
"I see myself being involved in this for a long time to come," Larkin said. "I'm restricted to the time I can give (this year), but I don't plan on playing that much longer...When I'm done playing, I can put in even more time."
