Freedom's home opener is tonight

The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Florence Freedom of the Frontier League will christen their temporary home field at 7:05 p.m. tonight at Foundation Field in Hamilton against the Washington County Wild Things, out of Pennsylvania. The Freedom's future home ballpark in Florence is under construction.

Tom Browning took over for Chris Sabo as the manager when Sabo resigned the day before the season began. Browning played for the Reds and Kansas City Royals from 1984-1995, and threw a perfect game against the Dodgers in 1988.

So far, in their inaugural season, the Freedom are 1-7, their lone victory coming over Kalamazoo 8-7 on May 31.

Local products Billy Back (Miami University), Justin Rahschulte (Boone County, NKU), Rocky Curnayn (Moeller) and Nate Zettler (Badin) all play for the Freedom.

Tickets: $5, $6 or $8.
