BUFFALO, N.Y. - Nate Grindell scored on a wild pitch in the ninth inning to give the Buffalo Bisons a 6-5 victory over the Louisville Bats, the Reds' Triple-A club, in the International League Thursday.
Grindell was hit by a pitch and advanced to third when a Zach Sorensen sacrifice fly scored Luis Garcia to tie the game 5-5. Mark Watson (0-1) then made the errant pitch to end the game.
Buffalo reliever Jerrod Riggan (2-0) pitched the final two innings and struck out two batters.
Sorensen had three hits and three RBIs for Buffalo (16-7), and Coco Crisp scored twice.
Jacob Cruz contributed three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run homer, for Louisville (15-10). Brandon Larson and Kelly Dransfeldt each hit solo homers for the Bats.
Buffalo took a 2-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Sorensen and a ground out by Greg LaRocca.
Larson led off the second with his third homer to make it 2-1. Cruz' homer in the sixth inning gave Louisville a 4-3 lead. Dransfeldt's homer put the Bats up 5-3 in the seventh.
Buffalo drew to within 5-4 on an RBI double from Sorensen in the seventh.
