DURHAM, N.C. - Jason Tyner had four of Durham's 16 hits Sunday as the Bulls beat the Louisville Bats 9-1 in the International League.
Jason Smith added three hits, while Jay Canizaro added two hits and two RBIs for the Bulls, who scored four runs in the second inning to take control.
The Bulls had a balanced attack, with eight players getting hits and six tallying RBIs. They won five of six during the homestand, getting 14 or more hits in four games.
Carlos Reyes (2-0) earned the win, allowing one run on five hits in five innings with six strikeouts. Jason Standridge earned his first save by allowing just one hit in four scoreless innings. He finished with five strikeouts.
Pete Harnisch (0-1) took the loss, allowing eight runs - seven earned - on 10 hits in four innings. Harnisch agreed in December to a minor-league contract with the Cincinnati Reds - the Bats' parent organization - as he tries to recover from reconstructive elbow surgery last year.
