The Toronto Blue Jays, who are 5-0 this spring, ended the Reds' three-game winning streak.
The arms: Chris Reitsma made his second start of the spring and struggled. Reitsma gave up four runs in three innings. The Blue Jays hit some rocket shots among the six hits off him. ... Brian Reith followed Reitsma and allowed three hits and a run in two innings. Carlos Almanzar's first outing of the spring was not a good one. He gave up three runs before recording an out, and five altogether in one-third of an inning.
The bats: Roy Halladay, the Toronto ace, started and retired all nine batters he faced. ... Jason LaRue homered for the Reds' first run.
The rest: The Reds lineup had a "B" squad look. Ken Griffey Jr, Adam Dunn, Austin Kearns, Barry Larkin, Sean Casey and Brandon Larson were not on the trip.
Up next: The Reds play the first of three games in two days against the Pirates today. Jose Acevedo will start for the Reds. Acevedo pitched two innings of one-hit, shutout ball in his first outing.
