Reds infielder/outfielder Russell Branyan has a sore right shoulder and will come to Cincinnati to be examined by team physician Dr. Timothy Kremchek.
Branyan, 26, has been playing for Licey of the Dominican League.
He had career highs in games (134), at-bats (378), runs (50), hits (86), home runs (24), RBI (56) and strikeouts (151) in 2002 while appearing in 50 games for Cleveland and 84 for Cincinnati last season.
