Reds outright two pitchers to Triple-A
The Reds outrighted right-handed pitchers Carlos Almanzar and Luis Pineda to Triple-A Louisville Wednesday.
Almanzar, who went 0-1 with a 2.31 ERA in nine appearances (one start) with the Reds in 2002, first was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list before he was outrighted. He had arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow Sept.3 to remove bone spurs and fragments.
Pineda, who went 1-3 with a 4.18 ERA in 24 appearances with the Reds this season, had arthroscopic surgery Aug. 15 to repair the torn labrum and torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder.
The Reds' roster stands at 39 players.
