Casey plans to grab souvenir

The Cincinnati Enquirer
Reds first baseman Sean Casey, left arm in a sling because of recent shoulder surgery, was asked if he plans on taking any souvenirs from Cinergy Field after the final game Sunday.
The question reminded him of a story.
I was cleaning my house up the other day and I found a rosin bag, and I said, "Where in the heck did this come from?' Casey said. Then I realized, it was the rosin bag on the field at County Stadium in Milwaukee the day we closed it. We won the game, we were walking off the field and I said, "What can I take?' I looked down and there was a rosin bag. I figured what the heck, and I just picked it up as a memento.
Casey said he might take the rosin bag from Cinergy.
Maybe I can collect all these rosin bags and put 'em in cases, you know, start a rosin-bag museum, he said. First one of its kind.
Bernie Stowe, the Reds' equipment manager, was modeling his 1950-era batboy uniform top, the real wool deal, No. 99.
Stowe started with the club in the late 1940s. He pitched batting practice to Reds manager Rogers Hornsby, arguably the greatest right-handed hitter of all-time. Hornsby ripped line drive after line drive, and then insulted Stowe for not throwing hard enough.
I got a buck a game for being the batboy back then, he said. It was a buck-and-a-quarter for doubleheaders. I didn't like doubleheaders.
