More than 1,000 additional tickets for Monday's all-star softball game between Cincinnati Reds legends and retired major-leaguers will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The event, billed as Farewell to Riverfront/Cinergy Field, sold out in hours when tickets went on sale in July. It will be the last event held in the 32-year-old facility, which will be torn down in December so the Reds can move into the new Great American Ball Park next season.
The extra tickets are mostly in the lower level, said promoter Marty Garafalo. Everyone who buys a ticket will get a Pete Rose bobblehead doll.
The game will feature Reds greats from the 1970s, such as Rose, Tony Perez, Joe Morgan and Johnny Bench, along with later-era Reds such as Eric Davis, Paul O'Neill, Ron Oester and Chris Sabo. The Reds team will play a group featuring the likes of Andre Dawson, Ryne Sandberg, Andy Van Slyke and Steve Carlton.
The main event will be preceded by an autograph session (3:30-5 p.m.), a celebrity softball game (5-6 p.m.) and a home run contest (6-6:30 p.m). Introductions begin at 7 p.m. Fireworks will follow the game.
Tickets, which will be $30 and $20, are available at Meijer, Play It Again Sports and Tickets.com.
