COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jose Acevedo pitched seven scoreless innings as the Louisville Bats beat the Columbus Clippers 7-1 Saturday in the International League.

        Acevedo (11-6) gave up four hits and struck out five.

        Robin Jennings cleared the bases with a double in the first inning, giving the Bats a 4-0 lead.

        Louisville added a run in the seventh and two more in the eighth on three Clippers' errors.

        Columbus' lone run came from an RBI single by Andy Phillips in the eighth inning.

        Brandon Knight (0-6) took the loss, giving up four runs in five hits over six innings.
