Indianapolis 8, Louisville 6
LOUISVILLE, Ky. Edgard Clemente's ninth-inning RBI double broke a 6-6 tie and gave Indianapolis an 8-6 win over Louisville in the International League on Tuesday. It was Clemente's only hit of the game.
Jim Rushford went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Bobby Smith drove in two runs for the Indians.
Kevin Witt hit a two-run home run, his 21st, and Raul Gonzalez and Chris Sexton each added two hits and two runs scored for the Bats.
Reliever Brian Mallette took the win by pitching 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief after starter Andrew Lorraine left the game after pitching five innings.
Louisville closer Mike Neu took the loss.
