        Mets first. Alomar flied out to center fielder Gonzalez. Burnitz infield single to third. Piazza safe on fielder's choice and Boone's error, Burnitz to third. Vaughn homered to right on a 1-2 count, Burnitz scored, Piazza scored. Alfonzo walked. Payton grounded into a double play, shortstop Larkin to first baseman Casey, Alfonzo out. 3 runs, 2 hits, 1 error, 0 left on. Mets 3, Reds 0.

        Reds first. Larkin grounded out, shortstop Ordonez to first baseman Vaughn. Boone doubled to left. Dunn homered to center on a 2-1 count, Boone scored. Kearns singled to center. Casey struck out. Kearns stole second. Gonzalez struck out. 2 runs, 3 hits, 0 errors, 1 left on. Mets 3, Reds 2.
