DURHAM, N.C. Andy Sheets' RBI double in the fifth inning scored the go-ahead run as the Durham Bulls beat the Louisville Bats 4-3 on Saturday in the International League.
Sheets' double scored Carl Crawford, breaking a tie game and giving the Bulls (50-34) a 15-3 home record in June.
Louisville (46-38) jumped to a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning, keyed by an RBI double from Kevin Witt. Durham answered with a two-run homer from Andy Thompson in the bottom half of the inning.
Luis De Los Santos (6-1) earned the win, allowing five hits and three runs in seven innings. Lee Gardner pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 17th save.
Jared Fernandez (11-5) took the loss, allowing four runs and nine hits in a complete-game effort.
