No DH
Baseball plays full slate without DH for first time since 1972
The Associated Press
For the first time in nearly 30 years, a designated hitter did not come to bat in a full day of major league baseball games.
A full slate of games was scheduled to be played Friday without a designated hitter for the first time since the American League implemented the rule for the 1973 season.
With all 14 interleague games scheduled in National League parks, pitchers will be forced to bat all weekend.
In a scheduling quirk, there won't be a game in an AL park until June 24, providing 10 straight days of DH-free baseball.
