Dunn's walk record broken
Streak ends at 13 games after Wednesday

MIAMI Adam Dunn's streak of at least one walk in 13 straight games is indeed a Reds record. But his run ended after a walkless 3-for-4 showing Wednesday night in the Reds' 8-2 victory over the Florida Marlins.
When Dunn's streak got to 12 games, it was determined that the last player to walk in 12 straight was Joe Morgan in June 1972. Elias Sports Bureau was trying to find a longer streak by a Red.
It turns out Morgan's streak was the record.
The National League record is 16, set by St. Louis' Jack Clark in 1987 and equaled by Atlanta's Chipper Jones in 1999. The major-league record is 22 games, set by Detroit's Roy Cullenbine in 1947.
It's not a record you can try to get, Dunn said. You can't try to walk. But if I get pitches I don't like, I'll take them.
Dunn realizes this isn't one of baseball's hallowed marks.
It seems like people don't pay much attention to it, he said.
