• The bats: Reds killer Luis Castilla is hitting .332 with 21 steals. Mike Lowell is hitting .332 with seven homers and 30 RBI. Cliff Floyd is hitting .302 with 13 homers and 34 RBI.
• The rest: The Marlins beat the Mets in New York Monday afternoon to earn a split of their four-game series. The Reds and the Marlins will have met six times in 10 days when this series is over. The Reds took two of three in Cincinnati last week.
