PHOENIX The Diamondbacks have a cleanup hitter.
Erubiel Durazo hit three two-run homers and a three-run double Friday at Bank One Ballpark, powering the Diamondbacks' come-from-behind 12-9 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Durazo set team records with nine RBI and 14 total bases; his was the third three-homer game in team history and the first at BOB. Luis Gonzalez had one last year at Kansas City, and Steve Finley did it in 1999 at Milwaukee. Durazo also set a personal best with four hits.
I feel great right now, said Durazo, who was playing his second game of the season (until Thursday he had been on the disabled list because of a broken bone in his right hand suffered March 20).
I didn't try to hit home runs. I did (Thursday) and didn't do that good.
It was the third game of three or more homers in the majors this year, the others by Houston's Lance Berkman and Seattle's Mike Cameron (four). Durazo had the most RBI in a game since May 10, 1999, when Boston's Nomar Garciaparra drove in 10 against Seattle.
YANKEES: New York Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte, on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow tendinitis, reported no problems after throwing batting practice Saturday and could make his first minor-league rehab start in the next few days.
I'm fine, Pettitte said after the 15-minute throwing session in which he threw a variety of pitches, including fastballs and curves.
Pettitte said he expects to make his initial rehab appearance early in the week.
Yankees manager Joe Torre has said Pettitte might need several rehab starts before rejoining the team.
Pettitte has had elbow problems since his first spring training outing March 3. He make three regular season starts before going on the disabled list retroactive to April 16.
