Hamilton goes on 15-day DL

The Reds placed starting pitcher Joey Hamilton on the 15-day disabled list today and recalled right-hander Jose Acevedo from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
Hamilton strained his left hamstring while covering first base Monday night during the Reds' 8-5 victory over Milwaukee. He was the Reds' Opening Day starter and was 2-1 with a 3.10 ERA.
Acevedo was 1-2 with a 3.32 ERA at Louisville. He began the season with the Reds, but was demoted last month after a shaky outing against the Houston Astros. Acevedo was 2-1 with an 8.53 ERA in April with the Reds.
The Reds also promoted left-hander Lance Davis from Double-A Chattanooga to Louisville.
Hamilton injured his leg in the fourth inning. Sean Casey made a diving stop of a ball hit by Matt Stairs. Hamilton had to hurry over to make the play. He appeared to injure it right as he got to the bag.
Who will make Hamilton's next scheduled start Sunday against St. Louis has yet to be determined.
With Thursday's off day, the Reds may simply move everyone up a day. That would mean Elmer Dessens, tonight's starter, would start again on Sunday.
