The Associated Press
BUFFALO, N.Y. Brandon Larson had three hits, including a grand slam, leading the Louisville Bats to a 6-1 victory over the Buffalo Bisons in International League play Monday afternoon.
Larson's homer, his sixth, broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning. The shot came off Bisons reliever Heath Murray, who took over for starter Tim Drew (0-3).
Bats starter Brian Reith (3-2) allowed six hits in seven innings. He had no walks or strikeouts. Brandon Kolb and Carlos Almanzar each pitched one scoreless inning, and Chris Sexton added three hits for Louisville (16-16).
Drew allowed eight hits and three walks in 6 1-3 innings. He struck out four. Buffalo (19-12) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Greg LaRocca's first homer.
The Bats tied the game in the sixth on an RBI single by Robin Jennings. They added insurance in the eighth, when Anthony Sanders scored from third after an errant throw from catcher Josh Bard.
Buffalo had the bases loaded with one out in the ninth, but Almanzar got Anthony Medrano to line into a game-ending double play.
