Records: Reds 17-13, first place in the National League Central. Brewers 9-22, sixth in the NL Central.
The arms: Today RHP Joey Hamilton (2-1, 2.65 ERA) vs. RHP Ruben Quevedo (1-3, 4.60); Tuesday RHP Elmer Dessens (1-3, 1.95) vs. LHP Glendon Rusch (1-2, 2.51); Wednesday RHP Jose Rijo (2-1, 3.46) vs. RHP Nick Neugebauer (1-3, 4.15).
The bats: Richie Sexson is having a big year (.252, eight homers, 27 RBI). Shortstop Jose Hernandez is hitting .284 with six homers and 19 RBI. Other than those two, the Brewers have no one in double digits in RBI.
The rest: One of the keys to continued success for the Reds this year will be beating teams like Milwaukee. The Reds are 8-4 against teams under .500 this year.
