Reds will get second opinion on Griffey
Ken Griffey Jr. will be re-examined by Reds medical director Dr. Tim Kremchek today. Kremchek is also expected to consult with Dr. James Andrews on Griffey's injured right knee. Andrews, a noted orthopedic surgeon, probably will have seen the results of the MRI taken on Griffey Sunday.
Griffey continues to rehab twice a day in Cincinnati. Kremchek expects to continue to treat the injury, a partial torn patella tendon, with surgery.
CASTRO TO REHAB: Utilityman Juan Castro has joined Triple-A Louisville for a rehab assignment.
Castro is on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring and is eligible to rejoin the Reds Thursday, though no timetable has been put on the rehab assignment. The RiverBats are on the road in Durham, N.C.
