Reds make hit with vegetarians

Of course, most of the big changes in the Reds' home ballpark will come next season. But at least one addition for this year has not gone unnoticed.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has named Cinergy Field one of its top 10 vegetarian-friendly major-league baseball stadiums. Cinergy tied for fifth.
In addition to peanuts, Cracker Jacks, french fries and pretzels, Reds fans now can buy veggie hot dogs or veggie lasagna with a tossed green salad.
Cinergy Field has hit a home run with fans by selling veggie lasagna, PETA's sports campaign coordinator Dan Shannon said. With more and more people choosing vegetarian menu options, offering more vegetarian fare at ballparks is a winning proposition.
Other baseball parks honored: Coors Field (Colorado Rockies), Pro Player Stadium (Florida Marlins), SAFECO Field (Seattle Mariners), Comiskey Park (Chicago White Sox), Tropicana Field (Tampa Bay Devil Rays), Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles Dodgers), Network Associates Coliseum (Oakland Athletics), the SkyDome (Toronto Blue Jays) and Astros Field (Houston Astros).
