Cubs vs. Reds preview

The arms:
Today right-hander Joey Hamilton vs. RHP Jon Lieber;
Wednesday RHP Elmer Dessens vs. RHP Kerry Wood;
Thursday RHP Jose Acevedo vs. RHP Juan Cruz.
The bats: The Cubs added Moises Alou to the lineup. Alou hit .331 with 27 home runs and 108 RBI last year with Houston. He should give Sammy Sosa some protection. Sosa is coming off a year in which he hit .328 with 64 home runs and 160 RBI. The Cubs also will get a full year of Fred McGriff (.306, 31 HRs, 102 RBI). Former Red Chris Stynes will get the Opening Day start at third base.
The rest: The Reds are 0-3-1 on Opening Day the last four years. The Reds and Cubs have played 31 times on Opening Day. They last met in 1995 when Jim Bullinger beat Jose Rijo 7-1.
