The arms: The Reds used seven pitchers. Starter Danny Graves allowed three hits and one run in two innings. Jim Brower gave up a run in the ninth when he walked Brian Roberts with the bases loaded. Brower (0-1) took the loss.
The bats: The Reds had seven hits. Jesse Levis went 2-for-2. No other player had two hits. Reggie Taylor and Ruben Mateo drove in one run apiece. Taylor hit a home run in the second, and Mateo doubled to score Aaron Boone.
The rest: In the first inning, Todd Walker was thrown out trying to steal second.
Up next: Opening Day. The Reds will host the Chicago Cubs Monday at Cinergy Field. First pitch is 2:15 p.m. Right-hander Joey Hamilton will face right-hander Jon Lieber.
