Game Report: Twins 10, Reds 5
The star: The Reds got a scare when Ken Griffey Jr. tweaked his right knee when he slipped in the outfield while chasing a ball in the third inning.
Griffey stayed in the game and singled in the bottom of the inning but said he did not know if he would play in the Reds' final exhibition today.
I'll do exactly what they tell me to do, Griffey said. It's sore. I'll find out more tomorrow.
Trainer Greg Lynn will examine Griffey today.
I think he'll be all right, Lynn said.
The arms: Jose Acevedo allowed nine runs on 13 hits in four innings.
I threw too many pitches high. I made some good pitches and they hit them. I need to keep working. I'm going to throw this one away and get ready for my first start against Chicago, Acevedo said.
The bats: Gookie Dawkins, who will start the season with the Reds, got a hit after replacing Barry Larkin.
Up next: The Reds play the Orioles at 2:05 p.m. today in Louisville.
