Game report: Reds 16, Yankees 4
The arms: Elmer Dessens earned his second win of the spring, allowing four hits and three runs in four innings. But he gave up home runs in the third to Enrique Wilson and Derek Jeter.
The bats: The Reds had 16 hits, and the 16 runs were their most in a game this spring. Jason LaRue was 3-for-4 and Reggie Taylor, in his first game as a Red, went 2-for-3. The Reds scored six runs off Mariano Rivera in the ninth inning.
The rest: Juan Encarnacion was 0-for-1, ending a 10-game hitting streak. He and Wilton Guerrero (0-for-4) were the only Reds without a hit.
Up next: The Reds will play Minnesota at 6:05p.m. today in Chattanooga, Tenn.
