The arms: Scott Williamson allowed four runs in the seventh and was unable to finish the inning. He left with the bases loaded. Danny Graves followed and gave up two singles, allowing three runs. ... Starter Jose Acevedo went 3 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits. He left runners at first and third in the first and second innings.
The bats: Jason LaRue is 0-for-his-last-15. ... Juan Encarnacion doubled and Ken Griffey Jr. drove him in with a single. ... Raul Gonzalez had an RBI triple and scored on a wild pitch in the eighth.
The rest: The Reds have lost six in a row. ... The game was held up at the start of the bottom of the fifth because the Reds had no first baseman on the field.
