The arms: Starter Ricardo Aramboles gave up two runs on four hits in three innings. He struck out four and walked two. Jose Rijo then went two perfect innings and Scott Williamson and Gabe White went one inning each. ... Luis Pineda lost in the ninth by giving up his first run of the spring after throwing eight scoreless innings.
The bats: Jesse Levis hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to tie the game. Levis, the free agent catcher, is hitting .600 (6-for-10) this spring. ... The Reds had six other hits all singles.
The rest: The Reds have lost four in a row. They've scored one, one, two and two runs in order.
Up next: Right-hander Elmer Dessens (1-1, 9.00 ERA) faces Kansas City right-hander Jeff Suppan (2-1, 4.00) in a 1:05p.m. game at Ed Smith Stadium. Chris Reitsma will throw 60 pitches in an intrasquad game.
