Tigers 9, Reds 1




        The arms: Chris Reitsma became the first Reds starter to go five innings. Reitsma gave up five hits and walked two. But he worked out of jams, striking out three. ... Ricardo Aramboles, a 20-year-old right-hander, gave up five runs in one inning. He allowed three home runs. Aramboles had pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings coming into the game. ... Gabe White gave up the other four runs in the eighth, allowing a pair of homers.

        The bats: The Reds had only three hits. ... Ken Griffey Jr. drove in the Reds' lone run with a double. Griffey is hitting .182, but he has six RBI in eight games.

        The rest: Adam Dunn was hit by a pitch for the fourth time this spring. ... The Reds did not make an error after making four Tuesday.

        Up next: The Reds play the New York Yankees at 7:05 p.m. today at Ed Smith Stadium. Right-hander Joey Hamilton faces former Reds' left-hander David Wells.
