Blue Jays 4, Reds 3




        The arms: Jose Acevedo became the third starter in two days to pitch four outstanding innings. Acevedo allowed two hits, walked none and struck out four. ... Jimmy Haynes allowed four runs (two earned) and four hits in three innings. He has allowed 13 hits in eight innings this spring. ... Scott Sullivan allowed three runs, all unearned. He has allowed eight runs this spring, only one earned.

        The bats: Ruben Mateo hit his first home run of the spring, a two-run shot to left field. Mateo fouled off seven 2-2 pitches before the homer. ... Juan Encarnacion had two hits and a stolen base ... Catcher Jesse Levis doubled in the Reds' third run. Levis, a minor-league free agent, is 5-for-7 this spring ... Todd Walker had two hits, extending his hitting streak to seven games.

        The rest: Kevin Witt three errors at third base, and each led to a run. The Reds had four errors after playing four straight errorless games.

        Up next: The Reds play the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at 1:05 p.m. today at Ed Smith Stadium. Right-hander Danny Graves will face left-hander Joe Kennedy.
