The arms: Starter Elmer Dessens gave up rockets to the first five batters he faced. He then settled down, going three innings and allowing five runs on eight hits. ... Chris Reitsma was overpowering. He went three innings, striking out four. ... Luis Pineda pitched the ninth to get the save.
The bats: Sean Casey had two hits, including an infield single. He also walked twice and scored three runs. ... Barry Larkin had his first hit of the spring. He also drove in two runs. ... The Reds had 10 hits after having only 14 in their previous four games.
The rest: Brady Clark and Ruben Mateo each lost balls in the sun. ... A sellout crowd of 7,447 watched in Fort Myers.
