The arms: Starter Jose Acevedo gave up two runs on four hits in two innings of work. ... Jimmy Haynes worked two scoreless innings. ... Mike Judd, a 26-year-old right-hander, took the loss. Judd, who pitched briefly for Texas and Tampa Bay last year, gave up two runs in the sixth.
The bats: The Reds had only five hits. ... Todd Walker hit an RBI double. ... Adam Dunn had his first hit of the spring. He also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
The rest: Barry Larkin made a nice play at shortstop to take a base hit away from Alex Rodriguez.
Up next: The Reds play the Boston Red Sox at 1:05p.m. today in Sarasota. Elmer Dessens will start against Dustin Hermanson. Danny Graves is scheduled to follow Dessens. Both pitchers are scheduled to throw 40 to 45 pitches.
