Web site tracks ballpark

Great American Ball Park photos, facts now online

By Dan Klepal
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Hamilton County on Monday unveiled a new Web site featuring information and images of Great American Ball Park, the Reds' home being built on the riverfront.

The Web page is located at www.hamilton-co.org/gabp.

Included on the page are current pictures of the construction site — updated hourly — from a camera mounted atop the Atrium One Building, overlooking the construction site.

There also are artist's renderings of what the new ballpark will look like when construction is finished.

The page also features a project time line and answers to frequently asked questions. Still to come: a monthly profile of a member of the construction team building the stadium.

Mike Sieving, the county's construction executive, said the Web site is a cheap way to get information to the public and generate interest in the project.

“We've tried to find grass-roots ways to involve the community and be accessible,” Mr. Sieving said.

County Administrator Dave Krings said the beauty of the Web page is that it can reach Reds fans everywhere.

“This new Web site provides the citizens of Hamilton County and Reds fans everywhere with information about this exciting project,” Mr. Krings said. “We'll use it as a tool to keep the public informed on our progress.”
