Reds set up charitable fund
The Reds announced the formation of the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund Monday.
The idea was to put the club's charitable and community relations under one umbrella.
We feel very strongly as an organization to put back into the community that has given us so much, Reds chief operating officer John Allen said.
The Community Fund was set up as a non-profit corporation. Mike Ringering the Reds' director of communications and community relations, will serve as president of the fund. A board of 13 six Reds employees and seven outsiders will govern the fund.
