Reds move to solidify roster
The Reds made some moves Thursday to get their 40-man roster in order. Pitchers Justin Atchley and Jared Fernandez and outfielder Raul Gonzalez were outrighted to Triple-A Louisville.
Aaron Boone was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list, and Barry Larkin, Seth Etherton, John Riedling and Scott Williamson were reinstated from the 60-day disabled list.
That puts the Reds at the 40-man limit (they had 38 players on the roster before the moves).
The Reds still have more moves to make. Pete Harnisch and Kelly Stinnett remain on the 60-day DL. Top prospects Austin Kearns and Ben Broussard also must be added to the 40-man before the last out of the World Series.
