New club seats going on sale
$1,000 deposit, please

Coming off a 96-loss season, the Reds will start sales Thursday of about 2,100 club seats at the new Great American Ball Park.
The team is making its first pitch to the general public to buy the seats, which will cost $42 or $50 each. Fans can sign up for two- or six-year agreements, and the Reds are asking for a $1,000 deposit.
Unlike Paul Brown Stadium, there is no fee for a permanent seat license.
The seats are wider and padded, and the deal includes a membership in Club 4192 named to mark Pete Rose's record-breaking hit at Riverfront Stadium.
Next summer, the Reds will start selling season tickets for the 2003 season. Those sales will be based on seniority for current season-ticket holders at Cinergy Field.
The Reds already have sold corporate luxury suites and more-expensive Scout and Diamond seats. Most of the funds will be earmarked toward the club's contribution toward the new ballpark, which should open in 2003.
